There is no doubt that the physical infrastructure of your computer network is the single most important element when determining the functionality of your operating systems. It is important that your infrastructure is sufficiently flexible to accommodate your future organisational changes whilst maintaining network performance.
The two main types of networks are a local area network (LAN) and a wide area network (WAN). The former allows you to communicate internally, while the latter covers external communication with other offices or third parties.
GrahamSystems has experience implementing a range of LAN, WAN and wireless communication platforms
LANs (Local Area Network)
- Cabling - Our staff are IBM certified cable installers, experienced in network implementations of many sizes and configurations, from small peer-to-peer workgroup settings, to medium networks consisting of 100+ drops in a multi-platform client-server environment.
- Wireless – An increasing number of businesses are adopting wireless LAN internet access, enabling you to be completely removed from the restrictions of messy wires and cables.
WANs (Wide Area Network)
- Broadband – As an ISP we have the capability to give you a high bandwidth internet connection, which allows you to communicate, conduct business and source information instantly. You can pay a flat monthly fee which gives you more control over your bills.
- VPN (Virtual Private Network) – With the introduction of broadband internet access, GrahamSystems has the ability to provide fixed communication links between offices over a single high speed line connected to the internet. VPN creates a secure connection between offices over the internet which is particularly suited to multi-site or remote access users.
- VNC (Virtual Network
Computing) – This allows technical
support staff to connect locally or remotely
to a user’s PC and gain instant access.
This means that all problems are dealt with
and sorted promptly reducing down time on
your computers.
